Robert Allenby plans conference

Robert Allenby, who told Honolulu police he was robbed, beaten and kidnapped after missing the cut at the Sony Open on Jan. 16, will reportedly hold a news conference on Tuesday prior to the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The Aussie withdrew from the Humana Challenge last week but a tournament official confirmed to ESPN.com that Allenby is listed as in the field for this week's event. The Golf Channel reported Allenby will hold the Tuesday media session.

Allenby's story has come into question after several witnesses reportedly shared accounts of the night's events that differed with the four-time PGA Tour winner's recollection.

According to a Jan. 22 statement from the Honolulu Police Department, "The incident involving Mr. Allenby continues to be classified as a second-degree robbery and fraudulent use of credit card. No arrest has been made."
