Brown used his grass-court prowess to stun Nadal, who is ranked No. 10. The German attacked the net 85 times and won 71 of 99 points off his first serve. Nadal is 0-2 against Brown, who beat the 14-time Grand Slam champ last year on the grass at Halle. With the loss, Nadal is likely to fall out of the top 10.
2014: Nick Kyrgios

Last year, Nadal went out in the fourth round to Kyrgios, an Australian teenager who was coming off a Challenger win in Nottingham and was ranked No. 144. It was the first time a teenager had beaten a world No. 1 in a Grand Slam since Nadal beat Roger Federer at Roland Garros in 2005.

This was Nadal's first competitive match on grass since losing to Lukas Rosol the year before. Nadal saved four set points in the second-set tiebreaker but failed to convert one of his own.
