Murray, Troicki advance at Shenzhen Open

SHENZHEN, China -- Second-seeded Andy Murray of Britain beat Somdev Devvarman of India 6-3, 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals of the Shenzhen Open on Thursday.

Murray converted four of his seven break points and won 82 percent of his first service points in the match that lasted 1 hour, 21 minutes at Shenzhen Longgang Sports Center.

The Scot will next face Luksa Lacko of Slovakia, who beat Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania 6-4, 7-6 (1). The Slovakian saved four of the five break points he faced to earn his 14th tour-level win of the season.

Viktor Troicki of Srbia also advanced when he upset top-seeded David Ferrer of Spain 6-3, 6-4.

Troicki hit 13 aces and converted two of his five break points to record his first win in four attempts against Ferrer.

The Serb will next face sixth-seeded Santiago Giraldo of Colombia, who beat qualifier Thanasi Kokkinakis of Australia 6-4, 6-3.

Giraldo withstood 11 aces from Kokkinakis, who was playing just his eighth tour-level match.
