Tennis

KITZBUEHEL, Austria -- Lukas Rosol advanced to his fourth quarterfinal of the month by beating Andreas Haider-Maurer of Austria 6-3, 7-6 (4) at the Bet-at-Home Cup on Wednesday.

The third-seeded Czech, who also reached the last eight in Stuttgart, Hamburg and Umag, had nine aces. He dropped serve once after double-faulting three times in a row at 1-1 in the second set but broke Haider-Maurer again when the Austrian served for the set at 5-4.

Rosol will next play Maximo Gonzalez of Argentina, who beat Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain 6-4, 6-4.

In a match delayed by rain, David Goffin of Belgium won the last five games to complete a 6-3, 7-5 win over top-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber.

The 78th-ranked Goffin held on to an early break to win the opening set and saved three set points for the German after dropping 5-2 down in the second. The match had been postponed Wednesday due to rain.

Goffin will play Paolo Lorenzi in the quarterfinals later Thursday. The Italian defeated last week's Gstaad champion Pablo Andujar of Spain 6-2, 6-0.
