Holly Holm to debut at UFC 184

The much-anticipated UFC debut of female bantamweight Holly Holm has been officially re-scheduled for Feb. 28 in Los Angeles.

A former world boxing champion, Holm (7-0) will meet Raquel Pennington at next month's UFC 184 pay-per-view event at Staples Center. UFC officials announced the 135-pound contest on Tuesday.

Holm, 33, was originally scheduled to fight Pennington (5-4) at UFC 181 on Dec. 6, but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a neck injury.

Prior to the injury, Holm had suffered a broken arm in a TKO victory over Juliana Werner in April, which kept her sidelined throughout the summer. She signed with the UFC in July.

Training out of Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Holm compiled a 33-2-3 pro boxing record, including nine knockouts. Six of her seven mixed martial arts victories have come via knockout.

Pennington submitted Ashlee Evans-Smith at UFC 181 via bulldog choke late in the first round. She is 2-1 in the UFC.

A middleweight title fight between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort will headline UFC 184. UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will also appear on the card, as she seeks her fifth title defense against Cat Zingano in the co-main event.
