Cutler deal could save Bears money

The Chicago Bears are not as exclusively tied to quarterback Jay Cutler as his seven-year contract would indicate.

The Bears could trade Cutler after this season and actually save $12.5 million against the salary cap, a review of his contract shows.

Cutler's $15.5 million salary for next season is guaranteed, based on a review of the deal, but there might be another team willing to take it on, relieving the Bears if the team made the decision to try to trade him.

And based on talks with a handful of teams around the league, there would be interest in Cutler, according to multiple league sources.

Any team willing to trade for Cutler would also take on the $16 million of guarantees for the 2016 season.
