Brian Campbell And special thanks to Stags for closing us out. See you again at the fights!
Stags thanks for not posting a single comment
Brian Campbell Alright folks. Had a blast watching the fights with you all and taking part with you in the analysis. What an amazing and exciting night at the fights. Thank you so much for taking part in our coverage. We'll see you again.
Luis Key difference: Floyd makes JMM come at him, where JMM waits for Pac
Kurt I have no interest in watching Mayweather humiliate and embarrass JMM again.
Brian Campbell I don't think so, but obviously you never know.
Tom @Brian: How bout Mayweather-Marquez from Cowboy Stadium on May 5th?
Javier Mayweather dominated JMM but he was helped by ballooning in weight on the night of the fight and he was much too big for JMM at the time. I'm not saying JMM would win a 2nd fight with Floyd, but it'd be more competitive at least.
Brian Campbell You could sell JMM-Mayweather II as 1) look, JMM just KOed Pacquiao! and 2) look, Mayweather just looked human against Cotto! But I think Mayweather wins dominantly either way.
Riyaad JMM and Mayweather would be interesting to watch after a KO of Pacman!
Anthony Reminds me of Hearns - Duran
Brian Campbell I'm not saying the outcome would be any different now though. Even with that. But it would be easier to sell after a KO like this.
Brian Campbell Great question: At that point, Mayweather was a bit younger and in his boxing prime; basically untouchable. But the biggest difference was that Marquez was essentially still a 135 pound fighter at that point. And we even thought 135 was pushing it a bit for him as he was hurt by Diaz and Katsidis. Plus Mayweather screwed with the 144-pound catchweight and came in over. Marquez today has grown into his welterweight, muscular frame.
Matt Brian... so why was Mayweather able to dominate JMM so easily??
Brian Campbell No matter who you cheer for, that punch had to shake all of us. Rarely do you ever see a top-end, all-time great fighter get KOed cold like that and see him fall face down. Not to mention the dramatic shifting of momentum.
Charles Roy Jones said the punch shook him. Maybe he was remembering Tarver's left in their second fight all over again.
guest anyone who watches this fight will watch #5.
Brian Campbell When/if they do a fifth one, it will be MASSIVE. Why stop at Cowboys Stadium? How about soccer stadium in Mexico City?
Henry Let's see a 5th fight, Dallas Stadium next year on Mexico's Independence Day???
guest About time way to represent Mexico. If it would of gone the distance PAC would have gotten the decision. No more controversy. Viva Mexico
