Game 4's big, late moments
By Henry Abbott
Jun 20, 2012 3:07 AM

The closing minutes of Game 4 featured a dramatic collection of memorable moments. Some favorites: Crampology At first it looked like a case of Derek Fisheritis. With a little less than six minutes to go, LeBron James held the ball at the top of the key, with Kevin Durant to beat. He waved an arm,...

Today marks the day when Lebron finally gets that ring! As a fan you can't be happier! Maybe this will kick start more rings to come.

It takes a TEAM to win a championship not an individual. Why is this fact missed a lot of the time?? Kobe did not win 5 rings on his own. He had Shaq for 3 of them and then Gasol, Odom and Artest. Lets not forget Fisher's numerous big shots in championship series. Jordan had Pippen, Grant and good roles players for the first three, then add Rodman for the next three. Bottom line is it takes a TEAM to win!!!

Abbott, I don't necessarily disagree with anything you mention in this short piece, but "crampology" and "Fisheritis"? Come on, can't you write your few lines without have to draw attention to yourself and your lame catch phrases? Stop being so clever. You're a journalist, not an ET hack.

I don't get why Thunder doesn't take advantage of LBJ's only weakness. Take off his headband.

It seems like the HATERS show up the day after the game. Don't hate the Heat, We came to play 7 games. We were not told that James Harden will go M.I.A (missing in action). Did the refs make Harden shoot 2/10 in 2 games? OK led 94-92 with 3 minutes to go. No ref bad call in those 3 minutes but plenty of OKC poor decisions, bad defense (not forcing a drive on cramped Lebron James and letting him drain a 3 pointer) and stupid mistakes (Westbrook on Chalmers). STOP HATING, START CHEERING. Long live the KIng. KIng James.

Terriblely officiated. But heat still deserved the win regardless. They are just the better team and they just played better. Westbrook is elite.

I was reading the more popular ESPN articles most of the day and wondering where all the "blame the refs" trolls were hiding out. I see they all came here.

To all the Heat whiners out there that have nothing good to say about the better team, but rather about how the only way the Heat can win is because of the refs: I hope you get explosive diarrhea. And if you want to quit watching the NBA cause of "bad" officiating, please, just do it. The NBA needs less whiners.

The Heat fans will never see the difference in the officiating. Me being a fan of neither team just want to see a game that is determined by the players and not the calls. The way the game is officiated changes how the Thunder can play Defense, so they look like they aren't playing good D. The Heat on the other hand KNOW they can get away with some hacking (especially Chalmers, Wade, and Battier) ... so they are playing WAY more aggressive because their whistles are slower. The officiating gives the freight trains (LBJ & Wade) the edge over any D because they will get a foul called if you get close to them on a drive, but OKC on the other hand has to get hammered for a foul ... yes they are missing calls, but the impact of how they are calling is a huge issue ... this series would probably have been an OKC sweep of the Heat had the calls been close to equal!!

Did the refs make Harden shoot 2/10 in 2 games? Did they force OKC's foul shooting to drop 8%? Did they force Westbrook to make that boneheaded foul on Chalmers? Complaining about officiating is the last recourse of the pathetic and/or stupid.

Did it occur to you that Miami is the simply better team? Heat support player show up when needed. Battier and now Chalmers and Cole. Harden the big three of OKC with only 8 points is the 3rd best scorer in game 4 for OKC. That is not enough. Harden want a max contract but he played like Antawn Jemison. OKC support cast is on par with Cleveland support cast.

OKC led 94-92 with 2 minutes to play. Tell me of any bad ref call in the last 2 minutes versus so many OKC blunders in the last 2 minutes. OKC screwed up down the strech that is why they lost the game. Miami is the best team because they can close games have a supporting cast that actually shows up and they got the MVP. What do u have to say about OKC play for the last 2 minutes?

It's so much easier being the better team when the refs side with you well over 50% of the time. Last night it seemed like there were three non calls against Miami for every one they called against OKC. Way, way, too hard to watch.

Nice evenly called game, refs. So glad I took the time to watch it. F****, what a joke.

Are the calls questionable. Absolutely...But at some point, just like an ump with a bad strike zone in baseball, you got to move on and start swinging at that pitch that's a ball but ump keeps calling a strike. Westbrook would have to be murdered to get a call in the paint. Everyone but Westbrook seems to know that. Stop complaining and play ball. OKC just needs to assume they are NEVER going to get calls and play that way.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone interpreted "home court advantage" as getting referee calls. As in you are supposed to have questionable calls go your way. I've always thought that, so I never am too surprised that it is what it is.
