Holmes: I'm ready to lead and produce
By Matt Ehalt

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- He was the poster boy of the dysfunction that ruined the Jets last season, but Santonio Holmes is taking it upon himself to be a leader -- and producer -- this year. "I'm super excited about Sunday. It's go time," Holmes said Wednesday. "I can't sit around and expect anyone el...

The only way Holmes can "lead & Produce" in anything, would be if MTV launched a show about loudmouth, overpaid, under-performing diva wide outs! Show me something on the field Holmes!

"I know our defense really gets excited when we as receivers make big plays and they feed off that intensity. As long as I'm here, that's going to be my motif, to help this team" That is everything, that is the key to success on this team. Our D is emotional and very involved, which is a great thing and if this O gets going this D will be lights out, and we will have a great season.

So far he has worked hard with the young WRs to get them ready, so he is showing strong leadership. I think the Miami game was more of a blip then we tend to think.

Stupid thing to say publicly. But if Mark wasnt shocked, he wouldnt have a pulse.

I think a lot of frustration boiled over in Miami and wasn't handled well. I hope that it in the past, but Holmes saying Sanchez was shocked by Tebow trade was kind of a low blow. But no one has ever accused Holmes of being smart.

Sometimes when I hear Holmes I conclude that he is NOT a fool. The key to the year IS for the offense to get more first downs. All offensive stats will improve then. It was interesting to hear him opine that the defense intensity feeds off the offensive production. I would like to think the defense was able to motivate itself, but I think Holmes is probably right.

of course the defense motivates itself but when they see there team score and gives them a lead it allows them to play looser and attack more. thats just common sense. thats every defense.

No, he's a fool. Should have one of those multi pointed hats with the bells on the ends, because this guy speaks before he thinks. Like days before.

This is the type of crap Cimidiot lathers for. In an earlier tweet he posted about Sanchez reaction to the Jets signing Tebow. Way to stay current Dick. For once ESPN should do the right thing and replace this no-talent loser. Cimidiot = useless.

Jets fans don't need to scapegoat c-minis. I am pretty sure we all would rather hear him be balanced in his $hitty assessments of the team. Rarely seems to be anything positive. If I wanted tabloid like B.S I would read the inquirer.

Cimini is fine .. he's become a scapegoat here because disappointed Jets fans refuse to take out their anger on the fool owner and clueless GM. Oh, and the loudmouth coach. They'd rather blame the messenger.

your a tool... what do we have to say about ryan? he had the Jets on the doorstep two years in a row. He knows he lost the team last year and is maturing and making changes. Even with the 8-8 season he has 28-20 record and 4-2 in playoffs not alot of teams can say that over past 3 years. You just mad you cant call him fat anymore since he lost all that weight? go away troll

I hope this Matt Ehalt guy writes cimini right out of a job. I can deal with critisism of the team but NOT an out and out HATER like Cimini. Go Ehalt!!!

He is a good leader. He had one bad season because he hated the oc. I expect 55 to 60 catches this year with 700 to 800 yards

He is getting a lot of $'s for that level of production. Better do better than 40-50 yards a game on average.
