They still need to play better if they are going to pull this off. They were dominated by the Kings in the 3rd, if not for Marty they'd be out. They keep saying oh Marty was the difference again, well change that in these last two games guys! Step it up in the 3rd, stop giving the Kings the puck control. All that said, I still think we are going to do this, Kings are not as good at home, Devils are better at home, so I think the Devils have a slight edge now in the series.

The Devils are 7-5 on the road this postseason, Kings are 5-3 at home. Percentage of road wins for the Devils is lower than the percentage of home wins for the Kings. Kings are 11-1 on the road, Devils are 7-4 at home. Again, percentages favor the Kings. All that said, it doesn't matter if you're home or away if your team isn't playing their best and both teams have not played their best at home or away.

Here's what the Devils mind set should be. Down 3-0? Only 1 team has done it, so what? Why not us? Down 3-1? Hey, the Devils did it 12 years ago! Why not again? Now down 3-2? It's already happened (at least) twice in THIS postseason, and we did it against the Panthers! Forget the previous games, its now a 3-2 series, just like any other game 6. There was never any 3-0 deficit, so forget it ever happened. I believe! LETS DO DEVILS!!

mariner, the point is that everybody was counting the Devils completely out of the series even though the games were tight. I've watched the Kings play every game since game 6 of the previous series. They've either lost or needed overtime to win all but one of those games. 3 losses, 3 wins in overtime, and 1 win in regulation. They haven't been dominant. They've squeaked out close wins.

BTW games 4 and 5 could have easily have gone for the Kings. But that's not how things played out.

The Kings played a good game and should have won, but the bounces went Jersey's way... it happens and the Kings have been on the good side of those bounces earlier in the series. The Devils can't let this get to their heads if they plan on winning game 6 because the minute they get over confident, then LA will jump all over them. This has been a pretty even series overall and it's not like the Kings played bad games in their 2 losses to the Devils (same with the Devils in their 3 losses to LA). I had originally predicted LA to win it in 6, so there's still a chance that comes through. Go Kings!!!

He's a Kings fan, of course he's worried. You want to know how to tell a longtime Kings fan apart from a newer Kings fan? It's the older ones that expect things to go wrong at all times.

I said earlier if the devils can hand the kings their first road loss then they'd be in their heads.....

The games have been too close for them to be truly in their heads. If the Devils win game 6 then you can make your case. Remember that a lot of people were predicting that Pittsburgh was going to steal their series against Philly earlier in the playoffs after making the series 3-2.

yes but those games weren't even close...philly was the superior team in every game (except for that 10-3 game of course)

series just as easily could have been 4-1 devils had they won both ot stalemates. Unfortunately we lost both, but we are the better, deeper team in the series. Btw Kovalchuk has to be hurt theres ni way he is playing this poorly and skating this slowly, his back must still be hurt.

Again, we neglect the fact that their only goal in Game 1 was the flukiest goal of the playoffs.

He has a herniated disc. That's not an injury that can be fixed by one cortisone shot and a day off.

First Campbell Sr. and the NHL front offices are helping Campbell Jr. win the cup (even though the elder Campbell did not make any disciplinary choices with his son's team...go figure out how that one works and get back to me) and now Bettman is working his magic for the Devils? what is this the NBA? Kings win game 6. (I hope)

The Devils played ugly tonight (turn-overs, missed opportunities at the net) and still won. If they show up to game 6 with their A-game, the Kings are doomed.

Not necessarily. The devils were great on D. They limited the kings more than any other game. Monday is huge game obviously but if the devils pull it out I favor them in game 7

If the Kings show up with their A game, then the same can be said for the Devils. We'll find out on monday

This braindead comment brought to you by a user named "phillywest." A woefully obvious Flyers fan still upset their team fizzled out against NJ. And by the way, even if Bettman COULD and DID rig the playoffs, he sure as hell wouldn't have let the guys from Newark beat their next door neighbors, the deep-pocket Ranger$$$$$$$. In football, baseball, basketball, hockey and hell, probably even soccer - a NY vs LA championship is pretty much a licence to print free money. It's what every sports commissioner dreams of when they sleep.

Yeah it was crazy when Bettman started taking shots at the Kings with a rifle from the box seats. Oh wait, no. He's not influencing the game and you're a moron.

Before the series started a Kings "fan" responded to me that the Kings would win in 3. I responded that that's OK as long as the Devils win the last 4. Hope that pans out! LOL!

A little bit of doubt maybe entering the minds of the Kings now. They better win game 6, or the Devils will take the series!!

clearly a kings fan, but as a devils fan im gonna have to go with the old cliche "one game at a time." If the devils pull out with a win as they return to newark, then they managed to drag la back with them. Period. Plain and simple, thats how the devils gotta take this right now.
