Just finished watching ufc primetime...JDS vs. mir, and confirmed my belief of frank the rank mir's self promoting a-s-s is way overclassed going into this fight....He is possibly the most arrogant puke in all of mma.....To whine about the "grind" that is having a family..i.e kids, and a life is pathetic....Your a second tier fighter at best Frank, get used to it, after Jds breaks your face.....The guy's a tool.

I remember Mir taking Brock Lesnar to the mat in both of their fights. I also remember him getting pounded in both fights. In the first Brock fight, Brock's inexperience caused him to step into a knee bar, in the second fight, Mir's face looked like it had been run over by a lawn mower. Mir is a joke.

I'm not saying Mir is going to win for sure....but i wouldn't count him out so easily just yet. He may not have the fans support but the dude seems to find a way to win...just ask your hero Big Nog and he'll tell you first hand.

JDS is a throw punches and run guy because he throws punches, his opponent falls down, and then he runs around the cage celebrating his victory. Mir, I wonder how much your teeth will sell for on e-bay when JDS knocks them into the first row.

If Mir gets hit at all on the chin, this fights over. His boxing can't hang with JDS and Mir isn't known for wrestling, so i don't know how he gets this fight to the ground. Have to go with JDS on this one.

In the first primetime episode, JDS brought up Mir's lack of heart so to speak, while I don't agree it's a heart issue or desire, I think he's got issues with powerful wrestlers or strikers. JDS will lay the leather on him and I don't think he can withstand it, even with his skills and experience. Much like Pat Barry and Lavar Johnson, Pat was the better all around fighter surpisingly and just couldn't take the power. I see mir getting TKO'd and I like mir. But yes you are right, stranger things have happened. I am 60 40 right now on this fight.

I'm thinking most are counting out Mir a bit too quickly. He's scrappy for a big dude. So he doesn't get your fan support...this aint the WWE...he could care less about that. The guy will find a way to try and win, if he does he for sure will not think it was a fluke like the rest of the internet message board junkies will say it was. (if it were to happen of course)...stranger things have happened in the cage before right? I'm just saying.

i don't think mir can take a hit personally and that's one of his downfalls. He's got great all around skills, but I just can't see him winning, unless he pulls off a submission.

I get what Mir is saying, I am not sure how good of a Brown Belt JDS is as the Nog Bros tend to give high ranking belts to marquee training partners even if they haven't proved it in any tournaments or in competition. Maybe he has strong BJJ and he's keeping it as the ace in the hole. At the same time you really cannot discount Mir's ground game, he's one of the strongest in the game there. Werdume vs Mir in a BJJ exhibition at a fan expo would be amazing IMO.

I'm a person that has actually had the opportunity to watch JDS train on the ground. He was training at the facility I train at when he was in Colorado for a UFC event. This was when he was a purple belt and I would say that his belt at that time was legitimate. He wasn't a 'world class' purple belt at the time, but he would have been at that level at most BJJ academies. That being said Mir does have an advantage on the ground, but his advantage on the ground isn't nearly as big as Mir's disadvantage on the feet. Dos Santos' disadvantage on the ground could be negated if he is in top position. If JDS is on top on the ground he'll be ok. If JDS allows Mir to get top position on the ground he could be in trouble. The issue for Mir will be getting the fight to the ground. I don't think he'll be able to do it, and I think JDS wins by TKO in the 2nd.

Yes, Mir obviously has the advantage on the ground but I don't think it's quite as much as Mir makes it out to be. To say JDS has no chance if it hits the mat is pretty ignorant on his part. I don't see JDS tapping out Mir, but I think he will be able to hold his own enough to defend Mir and get back to his feet.

Mir has to learn how to take a punch and counter with a take down. Once Mir gets rocked it's pretty much over. I like both fighters so I don't really care who wins but JDS will retain the belt IMO. Mir needs to learn from Hendo's style. Develop a money shot like the H-Bomb and you don't have to be a top level striker but your money shot has to be respected. Once you rock somebody with your money shot then you bring it to the ground. I'm a huge Hendo fan but I am not bias. Considering his strength is wrestling it's amazing that that his striking is so feared. That's a complete MMA fighter in my book. Superior striking and ground work.

Mir has a pretty good shot at beating JDS I think. I think all of your guys hatred towards him might fuel him to kick the sh*t out of JDS just to prove you guys all wrong. we'll have to wait and see though.

Hendo has that big right hand, that's something you either have or don't have, it's impossible to teach, other than that Hendo, as much as I like him, does not have a good technical standup, he can't get KOed cause he's got a face made of granit, another thing Mir doesn't have that you cannot teach.

In other totally unrelated news JDS wants a stand up fight and Frank Mir wants to use his BJJ skills. wait, that's not news. everyone knows that. Frank Mir has the best BJJ in the heavyweight division. Dos Santos the fastest hands and most striking power. This fight comes down to wrestling. If Mir can get Dos Santos down............If Dos Santos can keep this fight standing. It kills me that this is the stuff we get to read, and will continue to be fed as the fight gets closer.

Mir is lucky to be facing JDS rather than Cain. With JDS, all he has to do is worry about his boxing, but with Cain he would have to worry about striking and takedowns. Wrestlers tend to treat Mir like a rag doll. Just look at the Lesner-Mir II and Carwin-Mir fights. Plus Cain is far supirior to both of them!. If Mir gets lucky and beats JDS, he'll only lose the title to Cain a few months later.
