I don't watch too much hockey. however that analyst saying "the kings are fortunate to be up 2 -0 despite playing subpar hockey"... is an idiot... the Devils are playing subpar hockey because they're down 2 -0... and the Kings are winning...

I think the fact that you dont watch hockey, yet you comment on the games as if you did watch, makes you an idiot.

Watching the Kings postseason has been as fun as watching the Lakers in any of the past 12 years...

There are a lot of hockey fans in LA period. The Kings have been in LA since 1966 and true Angelenos support all of their teams. The Kings have historically drawn in the middle of the pack in attendance. They always draw more than the Devils even though the Devils have won the Stanley Cup before. Like all major sports cities the fans follow who is still playing at the time. It doesn't mean these same fans weren't fans already. It means that they are still playing. If the Lakers were still playing there would be double the excitement, if the Clippers were still playing too it would be triple the excitement.

The Canucks are going to be the best team the Kings faced in this year's playoff run, honestly. Especially when they put Schneider in net. If Schneider had been in net all series, who knows what happens. We probably still win it, because this is our year and I truly believe that, but it may have gone 6 or 7. The Sedin line is just incredible. Oh, they didn't have both Sedins but for 2 games.

bitter canucks fans...the kings haven't lost on the road...go find somewhere to riot!

I think they would've gotten by them too, I'm just saying, the Kings found the sledding much tougher once they made the switch to Schneider. I think he gave up 3 goals in basically 10 periods against the Kings.

>
csun722
Oh, the Canucks went 9-2 to end the regular season without one of the Sedins. Oh, Schneider was 1-2 against the Kings. Oh, the Kings still would have beaten them.

As a neutral fan,I thought NJ had a shot if they won tonight. Now down 0-2, no way can they win 4 out of 5 ,especially with 3 in LA's rink. It's over. I'm just glad my Bruins played Vancouver last year, and didnt have to face a team like this year's Kings. If the Canucks had Quick, instead of Luongo, they beat the Bruins last year.

It's odd...you don't take a year off at 38 or 39 years old, whatever he's going to turn next season. If they want to move on to Rask, fine, but he should play next season somewhere.

I think he is just busting the Bruin's ball*

The Canucks would have won the Cup last year with a goalie like Quick. Last year's Canucks were really, really good. You just had the advantage in net.

Agreed, but it looks like Tim Thomas has played his last game as a Bruin.

I think the 88 Oilers went 16-2. Pretty good company to be in if they can pull it off.

Kopitar is the Kings' best player and he couldn't play in last year's playoffs and that's a big reason they lost to the Sharks in the first round 4-2. It happens. It sucks but it happens. At least Kovalchuk can play. And he isn't seriously injured, I would suspect. Hurting, yes. But he can clearly play.

So many players are hurt this time of year. Look at Gaborik...he needs rotator cuff surgery. You play through it and you don't complain. I guarantee you that the Kings have players hurting.

Im not denying that but this clown is trying to say its an excuse yea players are hurting kovi is one of them... after the series we will really hear the extent of his injuries no excuses but the fact is hes actually hurt

Are you kidding me? If he's playing hurt why isn't he showing it? If Kovy is playing hurt why isn't DeBoer sitting him out?? Stank you're just another Devils fan trying to excuse what's going on. Smarten up kid.

He snapped off a great shot in the OT that Quick was able to stop. He's like Carter, in that he's a sniper and needs the puck and just needs one moment to make it happen. But he isn't going to impact the game in multiple ways like a Kopitar or a Dustin Brown can. Or Richards. Three Kings. Notice I didn't mention any Devils.

He's been terrible for them since he arrived there only Lamoriello doesn't really want to admit it.

Prince Humperdinck
I actually have no ill will towards the Devils, other than the fact that they are standing in our way for the Cup. I don't see them as a team of whining, cheap-shot artists like Phoenix. They've always been a class organ-I-zation, like the Red Wings.

You must be a Rangers fan. That's OK we can make room for you on the Kings bandwagon.

It's true the Kings may not be winning pretty in the Finals but that doesn't mean jack. You want pretty get an S.I. swimsuit issue. The Kings are doing what they have to do to win and if that means getting the game-winner in OT SO BE IT!!!

14-2 speaks for itself. If they win the next 2 games, the Kings can say that no other team in history ever had a record that was better in the playoffs.

I believe the 88 oilers went 16-2.

Prince Humperdinck
The Devils are definitely better than Phoenix though, no question about that, and I don't care if this series ends up as a sweep, I will still think that. Phoenix is a bunch of thugs with a goalie that was great this year. Devils as an organization have too much class to resort to that style of play.

Agree, because if they would have played straight up hockey, they would have lost to the Blackhawks, they had to cheap shot Hossa to have a chance.
>
Prince Humperdinck
I 100% agree with that. What a cheap shot by Torres that was. And then the 'Yotes straight-up tried to hurt the Kings' players when they were getting their clocks cleaned in Game 2.

I hear alot of comments about there not being any true hockey fans in LA. Have people forgotten how long the Kings have been playing here??? They've had more success than Quebec, Winnnipeg, etc. I've been watching Kings hockey while some of you were still sucking on mommy's nipples. So cut that horsecrap, whiny losers.

they've been selling out for years
>
Prince Humperdinck
There are a ton of Kings fans, they just don't get the pub here because the Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, USC, UCLA., and now the Clippers get more of the press here. It's just the way it is. Doesn't mean the Kings don't have a great fan base. The arena is always sold out. There are way more hockey fans in the LA area than there are in most NHL cities, it's just that in most NHL cities, the population is way less and the hockey team is one of the only games in town.

I've been a Kings fan for over 20 years around 1990 just when the Kings were turning the corner towards their first Stanley Cup run and I take offense if there are some that think there aren't any true fans in the southwest.

Prince Humperdinck
Yep, I've been a Kings fan since about 1986, a couple of years before they got Gretzky. When Robitaille was just starting out.

Kit Ramsey
The Kings are just better than anyone else in the playoffs right now and that is the only thing that matters. And they have NOT played their best in this series.
Prince Humperdinck
David, no. You've dominated territorially, yes, but you aren't dominating the scoring chances, and there is a major difference. You guys are doing well on the forecheck, but you aren't necessarily getting unbelievable scoring chances, at least, certainly not more than the Kings. The Kings outshot you 11-3 in the OT tonight. You have scored 2 goals off of bounces. Meanwhile, look at the skill displayed on 3 of the Kings' 4 goals in this series (Kopi's breakaway finish, Doughty's rush up ice, Carter's effort). The Kings are more skilled, tougher, stronger, and have the better goaltender. They are 14-2. It's time to recognize.
>
Prince Humperdinck
Yes, tougher and stronger. The Devils haven't advanced this year because they are a bunch of Broad Street Bullies. Yes, Kovalchuk and Parise are highly skilled, but guys like Kopitar, Brown, and Richards for the Kings are not only skilled, but far tougher players on both ends of the ice. The Kings are definitely bigger and skate better. You'll see that on the better ice of Staples Center. This series isn't going more than 5 games.

so where's he been at all series? oh yea devil fans will say hes hurt. That didn't stop jeff carter when he scored in overtime on a bum ankle...stop whining devil fans

David laying the boom
Well heres the problem i've watched my team all year not really seeing much of anything from LA and its probably the same for you with the devils...So I cant agree and will not agree with your statement i just know my team better and i just know parise is one of the best two way forwards in the game and kovi is one of the most skilled played in the world.
>
David laying the boom
More skilled kovi and parise is better then any team on the flyers-west. Tougher? Your a west coast team enough said there. Stronger? I never saw the bench press competition before the series... But you are right about the goalie brodeur can not keep playing these OT games hes gonna falter ever time. Quick is a beast i'll give you that but you should be thankful your up 2-0 cause those where games devils should have won. But everybody sees it differently.

Actually, no. As a 2nd generation owner of Kings season tickets, I think 30+ years of games counts. Lots of people hate on L.A., for the weather, the beauty, etc. I know, there's traffic, greed, whatever. Kings up 2-0, and I really don't care about what any "true" hockey fan thinks. Neither do the Kings. They've got the talent and character to win this thing, and I can't wait to see the Cup get paraded down Sunset Blvd.
