No excuses, Clippers have to be better

MIAMI -- Blake Griffin sat quietly in front of his locker as he heard his teammates give interviews around him. Each one tried to put a positive spin on what was one of the worst beatings the Los Angeles Clippers have suffered this season. The silver lining in the Clippers' 111-89 loss to the Miami...

These kind of games happen. Just have to move on to the next game. It was silly to expect all those returning injured players to hit the floor running. The Heat was right to exploit them early and often. Going to take Billups awhile to get into game shape and maybe its better to bring him off the bench and monitor his mins. CP3 still looks like he needs more time off...he said it himself that the playoffs was were it was at (meaningful games). SG and SF is a Clippers need but at what cost? Going all in with a trade means other teams will force the Clips to overpay in any trade and the Clips would have to win a ring this season. What available players are being shopped are worth taking a chance on? Would need multiple teams to get involved to move enough pieces and picks to make everyone happy.

No offense here, Mesmartoday. I didn't even bother checking the Laker blog because there are probably hundreds maybe a thousand posts. I enjoy coming here because I could read what everybody writes. Since there is only a few of us, we've got to balance the pros vs the cons.

@mesmartoday Out of curiosity, do you even go to the Laker blogs or do you just go to Clipper blogs to be annoying?

Hi road dog! Thank you! I aim to please! LOL ...Of course I'm on the Laker Index, quite a bit in fact but on there it's so full of posts and trolls it's hard to find me I'm sure. If you check rapid reaction last night after the Laker win, what about 7pm, you will see a bunch of my posts annoying trolls and offering deep insight from the game! Then after I watched your boys get smashed i went to your clips page and sadly found nobody posting, so so different from the Lakers pages. So I like to throw a zinger or two at you clips fans just to spice things up! Much like if we were having some beers together, just good natured , trash talking fun! Nothing personal, just a lil poking the bear.....all you guys need to just chill and not get so defensive, you should see the crap posted on the Laker blogs!

The Lakers won't pass the Clips. In fact, the Lakers won't even get in the playoffs.

at least VDN recognizes that poor 3 point defense is the reason we're getting killed

Didn't the Heat lose to the Clips in LA? It's one game people. Lets not get crazy. It's hard to beat the Heat at their place even if the Clips were at full strength playing well. Give then a little time to get cohesive.

Really, the heat have small balls? How do you know?

True, but Heat play small balls, Clips need to punish them on the board and Blake need to crush Battier in the face. They did neither.

Lets trade Butler & Bledsoe for Granger. Clips will be better defensively and another option in tight game situation. Butler doesn't offer much these days for 8 mil contract. Dollar for dollar, Butler is worse than Ryan Gomes.

That would be an interesting trade, and I bet the Pacers would go for it since they have George at the 3 and could use PG help. I doubt the Clippers trade Bledsoe without a long-term commitment from Paul though.

Yes, this may sound bias since I am a Heat fan, but I cannot help to notice how the writer starts out by making a point of not making excuses and then makes excuses for the Clippers. i.e not completely healthy, paul was tentative, fluky 3 pt shooting. Take it like a man; it was an old fashion but whooping with the Heat without Bosh and Allen.

for starters, they should stop calling it 'lob city', Yes you are very good at the alley-oop, but 'lob city' sounds so fuc.king ga.y and ghetto-trash. Start showing some self respect and maybe the clippers will earn some respect.

well to be honest last night game proved that Miami doesn't always need "The Top 3" like everyone say's. Also last night also proved that clippers can't withstand the pressure from the Heat.

Ain't the series tied at 1 ...Heat had "top 3" in LA and lost...so it isn't the pressure from Heat..just got back starters give them time to gel ..they will put another winning streak together

Anyone still remember the Clips had a 17-win streak earlier this year?

^ What an ignorant and spiteful observation William.Have you been watching him this season? Griffin is the only one who gave a sh*t last night and is the last person you need to be pointing fingers at. He's not the one allowing all of the open 3s, and when they were still competitive in the game Griffin was scoring at will, he goes out when they were down by 2? the game gets out of hand and next thing you know they are down by 13. Del Negro can't afford to not have Griffin in the game 38+ mins a night now that he's a more all around player and in the best shape of his life.

only thing about that, CLippers had a up-tempo when they first started but when it really comes down to all of it Blake's not very good under pressure.

Thats Mr Detlef Schrempf to you
a few dry spells during the season happens....but, hands down, they are an exciting team to watch.

"Clippers will be better." Did the intrepid Markazi notice the Heat played without Bosh and Allen? They'll be better too. Not that the Clippers will be facing them in the Finals!

Bosh would've added his devastating 5 rebounds to the game, and Ray Ray his scorching 40% from the field.

Maybe you should start rooting for another team. we don't need fans like you. Allen spreads the floor for us and has won games for us with his 3pt shooting. Bosh is one of the best players in the NBA and would be averaging 20-10 for any other team with higher usage rate. Watch our games and see what he brings instead of just reading the stats and maybe next time someone makes an asinine comment about our team, you can sound like a real fan.

Maybe David Stern could step in again for "basketball reasons"? Where would the Clips be without him?

I like to thank Stern for getting rid of Kamen. But Jordan is not worth 11 mil either. I can't believe that Jordan free throw getting worse. He will never be a third option to make that kind of $
