Do you think USC can get Jalen Ramsey, Chris Hawkins, and Priest Willis?Garry Paskwietz
I think there is more of a shot at Jalen Ramsey than most people are aware of. There is talk of him making another visit to USC with his parents, so shortly after he visited a few weeks ago. That happened recently with Ty Isaac and USC fans know how that one turned out. Hawkins, of course, is already a commit. Not sure at this point on Willis' eventual destination but right now the Trojans are certainly on his short list.Sam (Lomita)

Very good. He is favoring the local schools and the Trojan coaches have made clear he's a top priority for them. He's 6-4, 275, the recent tackle commits have been a little bigger but he's got the size to do it if needed.Ozzie (Phx)
Hi Gary, I wanted to know what Hutchings decision is coming down to? Is it coming down to which position he's being recruited to play, playing atmosphere, does he want out of California? It just seemed like USC was a lock with him and all of the sudden it's become 50/50.Garry Paskwietz
I think it comes down to his comfort level. He was more comfortable on his Washington visit than he thought he would be and now he needs to judge how he feels at USC, especially his on-field relationship with new linebacker coach Scottie Hazelton.guest La [via mobile]

Who's the next must get for USC for the class of 2013 now that Su'a cravens is on board and do you think if Kenny Bigelow and Max Browne were committed to an SEC school you think they'll be rank higher in the ESPN 150. Garry Paskwietz
I think the secondary guys are really important. This is a great year for DB's and the Trojans need to load up, they are off to a great start with Cravens and Hawkins but there are still plenty of top targets such as Redfield, Ramsey, Willis, Johnson, Hargreaves, etc.guest La [via mobile]
i have two questions what is usc status with the robinson twins from san diego? and with impending sanctions for oregon will that make usc the favorite for vanderdoes?Garry Paskwietz
USC is on the short list for the Robinson twins and the Trojans have offered in both football and basketball. It's hard to speculate on the Oregon penalties and any impact on Vanderdoes because there's no guarantee the penalties will be handed down in this recruiting cycle. Trojan fans know better than anyone that the NCAA can take their time.Will (Northridge, CA)
Can USC overcome depth issues by signing players to Academic Scholarships and then have them walk on?Garry Paskwietz
The Trojans will do that this year with several walk-on candidates. Cornerback Ryan Dillard is already taking part in workouts, he had other offers but elected to walk-on at USC with the help of academic scholarships. There aren't a huge pool of players who can qualify academically and be good enough to help but the coaches will be in search of them.mr R (Atlanta)

We haven't really seen too many because most are waiting to be cleared by taking their physical. The thought is we should see them on Friday, at least that is what we heard for Agholor.Ken (Glendale )
I haven't followed recruiting as heavily until about 2 years ago, but does it seem like more recruits are committing early? Especially one the west coast. Isn't it like half of the top 30 have already given a verbal commitment? Garry Paskwietz
Yes, the recruiting calendar seems to be moving up earlier and earlier. The coaches aren't big fans of it because they are forced to make decisions on offers before they get a chance to fully evaluate a player in his senior year. For the players, they are often making decisions before the benefit of an official visit. Don't be surprised if the official visits are allowed to take place earlier to help combat this.SouthOC4SC (St George UT)
Hey old friend! Gary - pretty stoked about this upcoming season and I am even comparing our offense to the 2004 juggernaut. I think the O line is comparable. I think the 2012 version of WR's is way ahead suprisingly though I gotta give Reggie and Lendale props for being better in the backfield. But Barkley, sheesh, Leinart is not even in his class. What are your thoughts in comparing the two?Garry Paskwietz
Good to hear from you. I'm not ready to say that Leinart isn't in Barkley's class, after all, Matt had a Heisman Trophy and a national title in his back pocket as he headed into his senior year. Barkley can't claim those yet. Any way you look at it, the Trojans (and the Mater Dei Monarchs) were fortunate to have both.Garry Paskwietz

I wouldn't rule out a 2nd offer but so far we haven't seen any indication of the coaches talking to other QB's. Kiffin likes to carry 4 quarterbacks at a time so it would make sense since, as of right now, they would only have three on the roster in 2013.Daniel (Ladera Ranch)
