Matt Williamson
Hey everyone...let's get this rolling
Alex (Anaheim)
How likely is it that the Jets will reach the postseason this year?
Matt Williamson
I do expect a noticeably improved D, but I still think their O is too easy to play against. How many 13-10 games can they win? I don't see them as a playoff team, but I will say they have a 38% chance of reaching the post season.
Luke (Waterdown, Ontario)
What are your thoughts of the Dolphins giving up the 3rd rounder they got for Marshall to go after Percy Harvin? He seems like a good fit no?
Matt Williamson
The Dolphins do seem like a good fit for Harvin. I thought the Jets first, but Miami is growing on me too. I think a 2nd is more appropriate compensation though. I also don't think Minny can let this guy go.
josh (ottawa, IL)
hey matt with the all 22 being released this year do you plan on talking about how to break down the film in your podcasts and articles? specifically how to grade WRs and DBs
Matt Williamson
I would certainly be open to that...it will be different for sure for the serious fan.
Eric (Chicago)
Think the Vikings would deal Harvin within their own division? I don't but anything's possible.
Matt Williamson
I would say highly unlikely. The Bears came to mind, but how can you play against that guy twice a year?
Vijay (Nashville)
Given that you've been skeptical about the Broncos chances this year, what do you think Denver needs to do to win a Super Bowl before Peyton retires?
Matt Williamson
They could win it this year. I am skeptical, but I do see that as a possibility if everything falls into place-which it could with Manning orchestrating everything. I have serious concerns about their Run D, but I think they will defend the pass really well now. I also don't love their OL overall and I just think making such a drastic transition from last year's O to this year's O will take a lot of time to be executed properly.
Xander (Philly)
I hear the Bills could use some WR help...Harvin seems like a Chan Gailey guy to me
Matt Williamson
I can't argue that. Has some similarities to Spiller.
Tonya (Indy)
does Jerry Hughes have a chance with the Colts?
Matt Williamson
I have heard good things thus far and I think a switch to a 3-4 is very good for him. We shall see in the preseason though.
Nick (Middletown, NJ) [via mobile]
Do you think Chan Gailey can find a way to utilize both Fred-x and CJ?
Matt Williamson
Yeah, I think he features Jackson though first and foremost. Jackson was spectacular before his injury last year. Spiller could get more reps at WR, even on the field with Jackson.
Brad (Philadelphia,Pa)
A year removed from the Dream Team debacle, do you think the Eagles have made the moves needed to live up to expectations this year?
Matt Williamson
No question. Their D should be fantastic. The entire offseason should do Vick a lot of good. Can he stay healthy? I do have serious questions about that.
Nick (Middletown, NJ) [via mobile]
Stevie Johnson O/U 1100 yds 10 tds?
Matt Williamson
Seems a little lofty, esp the TDs, but not outlandish. They throw the ball well and he is clearly the top target. Not a great player, but right below that distinction in my mind.
Scott (Northglenn, CO)
Just saw the all-time best RB poll ESPN put up...who would you take - Marshall Faulk or LT?...I say Faulk hands down...
Matt Williamson
We talked about this on the podcast and I also discussed it on Pittsburgh radio this week. To me, that is the toughest comparison. I put Brown first and in a class all his own. Payton is second for me and Sanders third. Then, I think picking between LT, Faulk, OJ & Dickerson is really tough. Dickerson is probably last on that group. Emmitt goes right after those for to me. 1. J Brown 2. Payton 3. Sanders 4. OJ 5. LT 6. Faulk 7. Dickerson 8. Emmitt
Jake (Cleveland, OH)
What team is the best fit for Harvin?
Matt Williamson
Still trying to figure that out. So far, Jets and Bills seem like good fits, but Miami is prob the best. Baltimore? Houston?
Rob (San Antonio)
I'm curious, we hear about qb's like Brady and Manning are students of the game and constantly study tape. What have you heard about Ben? He comes across as someone who wouldn't be a big tape guy?
Matt Williamson
I am under the impression that you are right-early in his career. But after getting into trouble in Georgia, I think he dedicated himself more to his craft-and it showed up on the field.
Jeff (Clearwater)
What do you think the odds are of Harvin actually getting traded?
Matt Williamson
Slim. The Vikes need to make Ponder's life easier in order to develop a true Franchise QB, which I think Ponder could become. Losing Harvin now with Simpson's suspension and Peterson's injury might destroy the guy. They need to use Harvin more too.
Jeff (Pizza)
What about San Fran for Harvin?
Matt Williamson
They just has SO many WRs right now though. And for that matter, RBs.
