Sabathia annoyed at home-plate ump

CC Sabathia wasn't happy following the Yankees' 2-0 loss to the A's on Friday -- and not just because he suffered his third defeat of the season. Sabathia was ticked that home-plate umpire Jordan Baker yelled at him in the top of the third inning.

Red Sox can't see CC
TAMPA, Fla. -- While the pseudo-Yankees and the quasi-Red Sox were battling it out before a noisy full house at The Boss on Wednesday afternoon, CC Sabathia was across the street at the minor league complex facing the newly renamed Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders, the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate.

Notes: Boone, CC, Hughes & Rivera
DUNEDIN, Fla. – Some more positive injury news. Let's get to the notes. 1.) Boone Logan (elbow) threw a bullpen and reported no problems. Logan's condition would be important on its own, but is more vital with Clay Rapada (bursitis in his shoulder) down.

Morning Notes: CC, Mo feel good
TAMPA, Fla. -- All good news out of the back field this morning. The ace and the closer combined for a simulation of what the Yankees hope they will do on a regular basis during the season. Here's the deal: CC FEELS GOOD: CC Sabathia threw two innings of a simulated game to three hitters, 21 pitches in the first inning, 25 pitches in the second, plus pitchouts, and declared his surgically-repaired elbow pain-free.

Sabathia feels good post-surgery
Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia opted Tuesday not to comment about the recent reports that alleged that Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez purchased and used performing-enhancing drugs from a Miami clinic.

CC to be honored at Munson Dinner
Yankees ace CC Sabathia will receive a "Thurman" -- an award for on-field excellence and community service -- at the 33rd annual Thurman Munson Awards Dinner, established in honor of the late Yankees captain, Tuesday night at the Grand Hyatt in Manhattan.

CC slimmed down
CC Sabathia showed up in Bristol to go through what is known as the "Car Wash," doing interviews on several of our platforms. On ESPN Radio, Colin Cowherd noticed right away that there isn't as much of CC as there used to be.

The Yankees' Cy Young goes to ...
... Rafael Soriano. With the AL and NL Cy Youngs being awarded on Wednesday, we are doling out our own award for the Yankees. Soriano gets the nod over CC Sabathia and Hiroki Kuroda. Soriano's 42 saves in 46 chances -- beginning in May -- might make him the team's MVP (Tune in on Thursday to find out).

CC's wild ride to rehab
INDIAN WELLS, Calif. -- Needing to get from New Jersey to Manhattan for rehabilitation of his elbow following surgery, CC Sabathia had to deal with the minimum of three passengers per car imposed on some bridges following Superstorm Sandy.

CC Sabathia Stats To Watch The best thing that the Yankees have going for them is that Sabathia has looked like his old self in his last four starts. He's 3-0 in that span with a 1.65 ERA and .179 opponents' batting average.
