Consider young breakout players in NBA DFS Tuesday

It's Tuesday, which means we have a full slate with nine games on the schedule. There are opportunities for some young players to shine, but some tough pricing and difficult defensive matchups mean you should fade some quality veterans.

Players to build around

Kyle Soppe -- Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers

Loved him in the preseason, and he hasn’t done a darn thing to sway that trust in the early going. Through three games, the 20-year-old is shooting nearly 62 percent from the field, while grabbing more than 12 rebounds per 36 minutes. But wait, there’s more! Turner has swatted at least three shots in each game this season and is a career 73.1-percent free throw shooter, giving him a variety of ways to produce for you. The Lakers have allowed opposing centers to be very efficient this season, and it’s hard to imagine that Timofey Mozgov & Co. right the ship against one of the more promising bigs in the NBA.

Al Zeidenfeld -- Kris Dunn, Minnesota Timberwolves

Ricky Rubio is out indefinitely, and that means it's time for the Timberwolves to really see what they've got in their first-round draft pick. As you've always heard from me when it comes to daily fantasy NBA, "minutes equals money" and this is exactly the case here. Dunn played 15 and 20 minutes in the first two games, respectively, but he should see an extended run in the absence of the starter Rubio. I'm expecting 28-32 minutes from Kris Dunn tonight, but he's still priced as though he'll play only 15-20. Easy value to plug in and free up salary for the All-Stars.

Joe Kaiser -- Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans

Davis is the highest-priced player on DraftKings and is second to only James Harden on FanDuel on Tuesday, but that isn't stopping me from building around him in a favorable matchup against the Bucks. We're talking about someone with a floor of 30 points and a ceiling -- as he's shown -- of well over 70. I'm putting him in my lineup and expecting him to dominate against Bucks power forwards John Henson and Mirza Teletovic.

Renee Miller -- Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers

There are a few guys I'll be building around, including Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant, but the PG position is crucial to get right. The price difference between Lillard, Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo is small enough on DraftKings that Lillard is an easy choice there in a game with a 225-point total. Furthermore, Golden State hasn't come out strong defensively this season, pushing the pace but ranking near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and rebounding. On FanDuel, where Lillard is $1,200 more than Curry, it's a tougher decision, but I still think he's worth it given his steady 45-55 fantasy-points output, even in much tougher matchups.

Players to fade

Kyle Soppe -- Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs

Yes, I’m aware that this is a man child who is capable of dominating games in a variety of ways, but I’m just not willing to spend top dollar on really any player when opposing the Jazz. Utah is a strong defensive team that plays at a slow temp -- at times, it seems like their single goal is to prevent fantasy goodness. Leonard was good, not great, against the Jazz last season, and I expect more of the same tonight.

Al Zeidenfeld -- Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors

In spite of the new world order on the Warriors, people are still playing Thompson, even though his price hasn't fallen into a range that's acceptable for his new role. I'm going to be off Klay until the Warriors start resting bodies and present him with opportunities to see an expanded role in the offense.

Joe Kaiser -- Rudy Gobert, Utah Jazz

There's a decent chance Gobert's Halloween was better than yours. In case you missed it, the French center signed a four-year, $102 million extension on Monday, which is a tad better than a basket full of Tootsie Rolls. That being said, he faces one of the top defensive teams in the league Tuesday -- the Spurs -- and hasn't shown enough offense to warrant his currently high DFS price point.

Renee Miller -- Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs

Leonard has been terrific so far this season but tonight finds himself in what Vegas has as the lowest-scoring game against one of the league's best defensive teams. The Spurs are a huge favorite, which could also keep Leonard's minutes at a minimum (28-30). But this fade goes beyond a tough matchup; I'll be spending up at the SF position to get Durant in the opposite situation -- lenient defense, high-scoring game -- and I think you can only go high on one player per position tonight. Leonard is out for me.
