It was one of the least surprising sports announcements in the past few months: Miami lost out on Super Bowl L to San Francisco and Super Bowl LI to Houston on Tuesday. South Florida sealed its fate to host a Super Bowl in 2016 or 2017 by failing to recently vote on renovations to Sun Life Stadium.
Join me at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday for our weekly chat on the AFC East. I am wrapping up my day at Miami Dolphins’ organized team activities. I will share my observations from practice, as well as plenty of thoughts on the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and New York Jets.

The AFC East blog continues its "Show and Prove" series for the division in 2013. Next up we take a look at Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson. 2012 stats: 12 tackles, one sack What he must prove: Anderson must prove that he is worthy of the free-agent contract he received from the Bills in 2012.

The AFC East blog continues its "Show and Prove" series in the division for 2013. Next we take a look at New York Jets starting linebacker DeMario Davis. 2012 stats: 36 tackles What he has to prove: Davis must prove he is the long-term solution at inside linebacker for New York.
DAVIE, Fla. -- The AFC East blog is live Tuesday at the Miami Dolphins’ organized team activities. The Dolphins are my sleeper pick for 2013, and we will be keeping our eye on a lot of things during Miami's practice.

The Buffalo Bills officially signed rookie wide receiver Robert Woods, the team announced Monday afternoon. ESPN.com’s AFC East blog first reported on Sunday that both sides agreed to terms of a four-year contract.
One of the New York Jets' biggest free-agent signings this offseason is in hot water before he plays his first game with the team. Running back Mike Goodson, who was expected to compete for the starting job, was arrested Friday in New Jersey on drug and weapons charges.
We have bad news to report for the rest of the AFC East division: New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is feeling really good about his arm and mechanics heading into the 2013 season. The best player in the division and one of the top quarterbacks of all-time told Peter King of Sports Illustrated that he is more confident than ever about his play, which isn't what the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets want to hear.

The AFC East blog will begin its 2013 "Show and Prove" series this week. We will examine key players in the division who have a lot to prove this upcoming season. Let’s start with Miami Dolphins tailback Lamar Miller, who will be a first-year starter.
Here are the most interesting stories Monday in the AFC East: New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will have his fourth arm surgery today with a recovery time of approximately 10 weeks. Morning take: This timeline puts Gronkowski’s return right at training camp, although it would probably be wise to ease him in at that point.
