RTC: Titans' pass rush is better so far

Reading the coverage of the Tennessee Titans ...

Two games in, the Titans are getting the boosted pass rush they wanted when they switched to a 3-4, says John Glennon of The Tennessean.

To which I say: I’ve been impressed, because personnel-wise beyond Jurrell Casey, they are lacking. Ray Horton’s scheme is effective at creating pressure so far.

Justin Hunter had a giant preseason, but has been quiet through two games for the Titans, says Glennon. Hunter’s been targeted 14 times but has just five catches. "I've never placed an emphasis on targets and completions," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "I don't even pay attention to targets. We're working to try to get guys open and the quarterbacks go through their reads."

In a really nice move, Jake Locker opened a “Locker Room” at a local children’s hospital. (Video.)

Bernard Pollard called the film of the loss to the Cowboys “disgusting” and apologized for the Titans' lack of defense of their home turf in his online show with The Tennessean.

Nate Washington had trouble separating and Ropati Pitoitua was strong according to the game review by Michael Mountford of Pro Football Focus.

Jevon Kearse and Kevin Mawae are among the first-year eligible candidates for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, says David Boclair of the Nashville Post.

As a playcaller, Whisenhunt has recently tended to become one-dimensional, says Kenneth Goit of Pro Football Spot.
