RTC: On Whisenhunt's read of pessimism

Reading the coverage of the Tennessee Titans…

Ken Whisenhunt noticed a sense of pessimism attached to the Titans, writes David Climer of The Tennessean. “Pessimism rides shotgun with a franchise that has not been to the playoffs since 2008 and has not won a postseason game since 2003.”

To which I say: David Climer is correct when he says there was actually an uptick in optimism upon his arrival, which marked a true fresh start.

Akeem Ayers was an invisible man under a skeptical coaching staff and now if he passes a physical he’s a New England Patriot, says Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean.

This is the worst start for the Titans since 2009. Wyatt looks at how other bad starts have finished up.

Whisenhunt is reluctant to talk about turning things over to rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger, says Wyatt.

Running back Antonio Andrews is now on the 53-man roster.

The Ayers trade turned a Titans seventh-round pick into a sixth-round pick. A look at the difference in picks between those two rounds in recent Titans history, from David Boclair of the Nashville Post.

Pierre Garcon’s touchdown against Tennessee summarizes the Titans' season in one play, says Jimmy Morris of Music City Miracles.
