Bucs put DE T.J. Fatinikun on IR, promote 2 from practice squad

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a number of roster moves Tuesday afternoon, including placing defensive end T.J. Fatinikun on injured reserve.

Fatinikun, 24, had three tackles in two games with the Bucs this season. He dealt with a shoulder injury that kept him out until he made his debut in a loss to the Houston Texans in Week 3. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound second-year player, who had nine tackles and half a sack in 10 games with Tampa Bay last season, had two tackles in a loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The Bucs also promoted wide receiver Donteea Dye and defensive end Howard Jones from the practice squad to the active roster.

Dye, 22, signed with the Bucs in May as a college free agent from Division III Heidelberg University. At 6-foot, 195 pounds, he had seven catches for 82 yards in the preseason. Dye was waived on Sept. 5 and signed to Tampa Bay’s practice squad two days later.

Jones, 25, was signed to the Bucs’ practice squad on Sept. 7. He entered the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014 as a college free agent. Jones, who stands at 6-4, 238 pounds, joined Tampa Bay after Pittsburgh released him on Sept. 5.
