Top stats to know: Browns 24, Bengals 3

The Cleveland Browns were the beneficiaries of one of the worst quarterbacking performances of the NFL season.

The Browns took advantage of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton's rough night to improve to 6-3, their best start through nine games since starting 7-2 in 1994.

The Elias Sports Bureau notes the Browns snapped their 17-game road losing streak in divisional games, the longest streak since divisional play began in 1970.

The Bengals had their 14-game home unbeaten streak snapped.

Their woes playing at night continued. They are 3-13 in prime-time games over the past eight seasons.

Dalton's bad game

No matter how you slice it, this was statistically one of the worst games ever played by a Bengals quarterback.

33+ Passes, 86 or Fewer Pass Yds
Since 1970 (AFL-NFL Merger)

Dalton was 10-for-33 for 86 yards, with no touchdowns and three interceptions.

It was the 486th game in which a Bengals quarterback threw at least 25 passes

Of those, Dalton's effort on Thursday ranked last in completion percentage and 485th in yards per attempt.

The Browns managed to disrupt Dalton without resorting to blitzes often. The Browns had allowed opponents to complete 63 percent of passes against four rushers or fewer. In this game, the Bengals completed only 31 percent and had all three interceptions against four or fewer pass-rushers.

The Browns defense has 13 interceptions this season, the most in the NFL. They totaled only 14 in 2013.

Dalton finished with a career high-tying 11 overthrown passes. His seven by halftime were more than he had in any game this season.

Browns run it up

The Browns finished with 52 rushing attempts, the most by any team in a game this season. That helped them control the football for nearly 36 minutes.

The Browns ran between the tackles effectively throughout the game, netting 132 of their 170 rushing yards (and three touchdowns) on 39 runs up the middle.

They had three rushing touchdowns in a game for the second time this season (they had no such games from 2011 to 2013).

Terrance West had 94 rushing yards, nearly matching the 98 he had in his past four games combined.
