Three SEC players were named finalists for the 2012 Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation’s top defensive football player.

Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner, Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones and South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney made the list of five finalists.

The winner will be awarded during the annual Bronko Nagurski Awards Banquet presented by ACN, scheduled for Dec. 3, at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte.

Milliner has 44 tackles, including four for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also has two interceptions and has defended an SEC-high 16 passes. Jones has 56 total tackles and is tied for second in the SEC with 17 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. Clowney has totaled 43 tackles, including 17 for loss and has 8.5 sacks.
