Missouri 'caught up in the moment' in SEC title game

Despite being in Atlanta the year prior for the SEC championship game, Missouri didn't look as settled for last fall's visit to the "A" to take on Alabama. In a game that seemed over at halftime (Alabama led 21-3), the Tigers left the Georgia Dome with a painful 42-13 loss to the Crimson Tide.

While the 2014 Missouri team certainly wasn't as talented as the one that squared off with Auburn in 2013, the Tigers admitted to being a little mentally out of it during Round 2 in the SEC title game.

"I think last year, we just got caught up in the moment," quarterback Maty Mauk said.

"There were too many broken plays that were just stupid mistakes, really. It was me going left when I should have gone right. Maybe it was an inside zone instead of an outside zone on the running back. It was just little things like that."
