Help wanted: Alabama goes after former Wisconsin RB signee

Derrick Henry is back and expected to take on a featured role. Kenyan Drake looks to be healthy again after a gruesome leg injury last fall. But after those two, the Alabama running back situation becomes a mystery.

Former ESPN 300 running backs Tyren Jones and Altee Tenpenny both transferred this offseason, and prized recruit Bo Scarbrough tore his ACL during spring practice. That leaves freshman Ronnie Clark and Damien Harris as the only other scholarship backs on the roster, and Clark is coming off an ACL injury while Harris hasn't even been on campus for two full months.

So it's no surprise coach Nick Saban is looking for another body at running back and has spoken with Jordan Stevenson, a former Wisconsin signee who did not meet the requirements to enroll at the school.

The four-star running back, who initially committed to Texas, had offers from schools such as Alabama, Ohio State and UCLA when he signed with the Badgers in February.

On the second go-around, it looks like Alabama's biggest competition to land Stevenson will come from Nebraska and first-year coach Mike Riley, a Crimson Tide alum. Stevenson has reportedly narrowed his list to those two schools and a decision could come within the week.
