We’re still 15 weeks away from the college football season, and the first watch list is already out. That’s right. The Rimington Trophy, honoring the nation’s best center, released 52 names in its initial watch list.
Of those 52 names, eight came from the SEC. It might not be as strong a year at center as it was last year in the conference, but there’s still some talent on the list.
Evan Boehm, Missouri
Ryan Kelly, Alabama
Alan Knott, South Carolina
Mike Matthews, Texas A&M
Ethan Pocic, LSU
Spencer Pulley, Vanderbilt
Mitch Smothers, Arkansas
Jon Toth, Kentucky
Last year, Auburn center Reese Dismukes, a four-year starter on the Plains, won the award. He recently signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent.
