NFL.com writers debated how Russell Wilson, Cam Newton and Andrew Luck will rank over the next five years. Three of the eight put Wilson first; three had Luck; and two picked Newton. Here's Charley Casserly's take:

The ranking will, of course, depend on the talent each of these quarterbacks will be playing with and who is coaching them -- and those variables are somewhat difficult to predict. It also depends on how we're going to judge them as quarterbacks. My vote, based on their passing ability from the pocket, would be for Andrew Luck first, then Russell Wilson, followed by Cam Newton.

Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times wonders whether the Seahawks will redo Michael Bennett's contract:

Consider that Bennett currently is the 26th-highest paid defensive lineman in the NFL at an average of $7.125 million per year -- Miami’s Ndamukong Suh tops the list at more than $19 million annually. Fifteen make $10 million or more per season.

Of the 25 players making more than Bennett, all but three have signed new contracts (either extensions or as free agents) since Bennett signed his.

Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune examines what to take away from Doug Baldwin's extension:

The deal for Baldwin, plus the ones to Wilson and [Jermaine] Kearse over the last 11 months (Seattle inherited half of [Jimmy] Graham's contract in last year’s trade with New Orleans), are about a larger, longer-term message. It’s about the Seahawks rewarding and reinforcing their core.
