Seahawks' Legion of Boom in good shape going into 2016 season

Every weekday morning, we'll round up local and national Seattle Seahawks-related links.

Stephen Cohen of SeattlePI.com offers takeaways from practice, including a note on the Seahawks' secondary:

While the team might be missing a couple of its offensive playmakers, the defense -- and in particular the "Legion of Boom" secondary -- is as healthy as it's been in a couple of offseasons. Last year cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Jeremy Lane, free safety Earl Thomas and strong safety Kam Chancellor were all coming off of serious injuries that sidelined them during OTAs. This year, the LOB has its full compliment of stars on the field, which makes a difference in the energy of each practice session.

"You can imagine the offseason we had last year when Earl was hurt and Richard was hurt and Kam was hurt. All those guys were banged up, and Jeremy Lane of course -- he had a terrible time just trying to make it back," Carroll said. "Those guys are having great offseasons. All of that, you can feel the energy that they bring and their well-being is obvious and it's just kind of added to the overall feel and spirit of all these camps we've been going through so far."

Jayson Jenks of The Seattle Times thinks rookie RB Alex Collins looks the part:

Physically, he looks like the type of running back the Seahawks have often desired under coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider (Think big, powerful runners like Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin and Christine Michael). It’s impossible to know how Collins, the Seahawks’ fifth-round draft pick, will fit in or if he will fit in this early in the offseason. But physically he has the traits, which is a start. After one run, offensive line coach Tom Cable walked over to Collins, put his arm around him and talked to him for a few minutes -- also a small reminder of how far he has to go in order to contribute.

Danny O'Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle was asked who the Seahawks' best linebacker is:

I believe that Wright is the more complete linebacker. I think that he’s the best linebacker Seattle has in dropping into coverage. I think Wagner -- athletically -- is the best linebacker, but there are times in his pursuit where he doesn’t come up and force the issue.
