Jermaine Kearse and Tharold Simon's status uncertain this week

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said left tackle Russell Okung will return to practice this week, but Carroll is uncertain about the status of center Max Unger, wide receiver Jermaine Kearse and cornerback Tharold Simon.

Kearse pulled a hamstring in Sunday’s night’s game at Arizona. His chances of playing Sunday against St. Louis appear unlikely.

“He didn’t feel the big pop that guys feel,” Carroll said of Kearse on his 710 ESPN Seattle radio show Monday. “He shut it down before that happened. That’s really touch-and-go to get back in a week’s time.”

Simon also could be doubtful for the regular-season finale after suffering a dislocated shoulder in Sunday’s 35-6 win over the Cardinals.

“I don’t want to go into the gruesome details, but it looked to me like he didn’t get [his shoulder] back in on the field,’’ Carroll said. “I don’t know if he’s had that before. We’ll see what happens.’’

Okung missed Sunday’s game with a bruised lung that he suffered in the game against the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 14. He is expected to play this weekend. Unger, however, still is trying to get over an ankle injury that has caused him to miss the last five games.

“I talked to him on the plane [Sunday night] and he’ll do what he can to get out there,” Carroll said of Unger. “But we have to wait and see. We’ve seen these high-ankle sprains take six to eight weeks and he’s got one of the long-term ones.”
