Percy Harvin OK after injuring his foot

RENTON, Wash. -- Tuesday was the final day for the public to view practice and the fans got quite a scare when receiver Percy Harvin went down holding his lower right leg after catching a hitch pass in team drills.

Harvin was in obvious pain as he limped off the field and returned to the locker room, but he came back on the field a few minutes later without limping.

“He got stepped on at the back of his heel,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “He got scraped up pretty good. He’s OK though.”

The Seahawks had all five offensive line starters on the field together Tuesday in team drills for the first time since training camp began. Left tackle Russell Okung, who had offseason surgery to repair a torn ligament in a big toe, went through a full practice for the first time.

“I think Russell got a little tired today with his first big dose of work,” Carroll said. “It was great to have everybody going so we can start the process of continuity that is so important.”

Okung, center Max Unger and left guard James Carpenter did not play in the preseason game at Denver Thursday. But all of them were on the field Tuesday, along with right guard J.R. Sweezy and rookie right tackle Justin Britt.

Strong safety Kam Chancellor, who had offseason hip surgery, also was practicing full speed Tuesday.

“It’s good to see Kam and [free safety] Earl [Thomas] back out there together,” Carroll said. “Kam is such a big factor on our defense that it affects everybody, so it’s good to have him back. We’ll take this one day at a time with him and see how he’s doing. There’s no reason to rush.”

The Seahawks remain thin at the linebacker spots with middle linebacker Bobby Wagner (hamstring) and outside linebackers Malcolm Smith (offseason ankle surgery) and Korey Toomer (hamstring) still out.

“Malcolm is a little bit ahead of Toomer,” Carroll said. “Toomer is still another week or so away, probably a little behind Bobby. He’s getting real close.”

Outside linebacker Bruce Irvin is on the preseason physically unable to perform list after undergoing hip surgery on June 1, but Carroll said Irvin’s rehab is going well and he could return before the end of the preseason.
