Morning links: Ohrnberger done with back surgery

Good morning.

Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego is reporting that San Diego Chargers center Rich Ohrnberger will have season-ending back surgery. Ohrnberger has been dealing with lingering back issues most of the season, and missed last week’s game with back and ankle injuries.

Rookie Chris Watt played well in his first career start in place of Ohrnberger, likely giving the Chargers more confidence to make this move. The Chargers have not confirmed this report.

If the playoffs started today, the Chargers would be in at 7-4, winning the tiebreaker over the Ravens (7-4), the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-4) and the Cleveland Browns (7-4).
