San Diego Chargers' Black Friday shopping list includes Etch A Sketch

A voodoo doctor: The Chargers need to call on the healing skills of a higher power to fix the team’s rash of injuries. Only two players on offense (Philip Rivers and Joe Barksdale) and one on defense (Melvin Ingram) have started all 10 games for the Chargers. While general manager Tom Telesco and coach Mike McCoy can point to the team’s injury issues as part of the reason for a 2-8 season, the Chargers still lack impact players and overall depth on the roster.

A time machine for Philip Rivers: The 33-year-old quarterback is ready to win a Super Bowl now, but he needs help. Fast-forwarding the on-field development and mental maturity of young players such as Melvin Gordon, Jason Verrett, Manti Te'o and Melvin Ingram would help the Chargers compete for a championship sooner rather than later.

An Etch A Sketch for Mike McCoy: San Diego’s coach is fond of saying the system is in place and the Chargers have a blueprint of success -- it’s just a matter of execution. Well, with his team in the midst of a six-game losing streak, it might be time for McCoy to turn the Etch A Sketch over, shake well and create a new blueprint for success with six games to go.
