Chargers sign CB Jordan Mabin

SAN DIEGO -- The Chargers announced on Tuesday that the team signed cornerback Jordan Mabin to the 90-man roster.

The Northwestern product initially signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012, spending most of the season on the practice squad before joining the Cleveland Browns’ active roster for the final week that year.

Mabin, 26, spent the past two seasons on the practice squad with the Atlanta Falcons, but was waived on May 1.

At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Mabin played in 51 games at Northwestern, finishing with 251 combined tackles and seven interceptions.

With cornerbacks Brandon Flowers, Patrick Robinson and Greg Ducre not practicing on Monday, Mabin adds another healthy body to the position group.

To make room for Mabin, the Chargers released receiver Demetrius Wilson.
