Mark Fabiani, the point person for the Chargers on the stadium issue, tells Annie Heilbrunn of The Mighty 1090 AM radio that the team would take less in a stadium deal to stay in San Diego in this video. “They want to keep the team here,” Fabiani said. “And clearly they are willing to take a deal that’s not as lucrative as a Los Angeles deal to keep a team here. But at the same time, if there’s no deal here – if there’s nothing – that’s when you have to look at alternatives. “At some point, you have to protect your other options. Because if you don’t, imagine that you end up with no stadium deal in San Diego. You end up with two teams in Los Angeles, wiping out your local business there, and you have no leverage anymore because there’s no other place to go. I doubt the city would even return our phone calls if there were two teams in Los Angeles.
