Prediction: Steelers will beat Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers are harder to read than the tax code. They have dealt with adversity though not prosperity well in the last couple of seasons. That and the fact they have lost two of their last three games to the Ravens at Heinz Field makes this a tough one to call.

The last six games between these fierce rivals at Heinz Field have all been decided by three points with the teams splitting. The Ravens are No. 22 in the NFL in passing defense (256 yards allowed per game) and they are without cornerback Jimmy Smith, whose Pro Bowl-caliber season has been interrupted by a mid-foot sprain.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger isn’t going to throw six touchdown passes again this week. But he will find a way to win against a team that has beaten the most competitive player on the Steelers in four of the last five games.

Steelers 27, Ravens 23.
