The Philadelphia Eagles will pick No. 22 overall in the first round in next month’s NFL draft.

Unless they trade up or down, of course.

Until that pick is made, no one knows how it will turn out.

For now, let’s rewind a bit and take a look at last year’s first round pick -- offensive tackle Lane Johnson. The No. 4 overall pick from the University of Oklahoma had a stellar season and played all but one snap during the regular season.

He proved to be durable and dependable.

Ultimately, Johnson will be judged in the years to come. In the one year that has passed, Johnson has to be given a solid grade. Kansas City’s Eric Fisher (No. 1 overall) and Jacksonville’s Luke Joeckel (No. 2 overall) performed well, but a case can be made that Johnson was the best of the bunch.

CSNPhilly.com noted that Johnson was the first Eagles rookie offensive lineman in 16 years to start all 16 games since third-round pick Doug Brzezinski started every game at left guard in 1999.

It’s safe to say that the Eagles’ 2013 first-round pick was a winner.
