Tampa Bay's Roberto Aguayo and his kick starter campaign

It's unusual for a kicker to go high in the NFL draft.

Roberto Aguayo went high (in the second round). Some thought too high. And some thought the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave up too much by trading up to pick him.

Those who questioned the choice shared their criticism, often on social media.

Aguayo has his backers, though, including last year's first choice in the draft. Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston expects his former college teammate to prove the doubters wrong.

ESPN's own KC Joyner believes Aguayo, who is of Mexican heritage, is a solid candidate for offensive rookie of the year.
