Raiders mailbag: Justin Tuck's future

Weekend mail call:

Pete from Boothbay, Maine, wants to know if I think Amari Cooper of Alabama will be a target of the Raiders in the first round.

Bill Williamson: Yes, absolutely. I think Cooper will be a certainly on the Oakland Raiders' short list. Receiver is one of the team’s biggest needs, and Cooper would fit the bill. While everything is on the table, I’d say Cooper is an early favorite to be the Raiders’ choice.

Jessie from Oakland wants to know if I think the Raiders will keep Justin Tuck next year.

BW: It all depends on who is making the decision. But Tuck has been a solid player. He hasn’t been dominant, but he’s made some plays and he’s steady. He’s a leader, too. Justin Tuck is far from the Raiders’ biggest problem. I’d expect to see him back.

Danny from Boise wants to know if Jim Harbaugh could bring his own general manager with him if he becomes the Raiders’ coach.

BW: Oh, yes. First, of course, Harbaugh would have to be secured. If Harbaugh does come, he will bring his own people. That’s means some front-office folks. Just speculating here, but two came that could be in play are Tom Gamble and Mike Lombardi. Harbaugh has relationships with both. Again, that’s just speculation at this point.
