Khalil Mack's impact has been more against run than pass

OAKLAND -- When the Oakland Raiders drafted Khalil Mack with the No. 5 overall pick, they were hoping they would get some serious pass-rush burst.

After six games, though, Mack's greatest contributions have come in the run game. The Buffalo product has been terrific in the ground game. Mack had one of his better games of the season against Arizona as he had a game-high 11 tackles, including three tackles for loss.

Mack is still looking for his first sack, though. He has gotten some pressure, but he has been unable to finish the job. Getting sacks has been a team-wide issue, though. Oakland has just six sacks this season and has not been able to get a consistent pass rush. The Cardinals shredded Oakland's blitz. Carson Palmer completed 8-of-9 passes when pressured.

While Mack has given Oakland the instant pass-rush impact, he certainly has been a plus-player who seems to have a bright future.
