Assessing the Oakland Raiders' receivers

The Oakland Raiders' receiving group has taken some interesting turns in the first quarter of the season. Let’s take a look where each receiver stands:

James Jones: The free-agent pickup from Green Bay has been Oakland’s best offensive player. He has 21 catches. According to Pro Football Focus, he has caught every “catchable” pass that has come his way. He is on pace for 84 catches. His career high is 64 in 2012.

Andre Holmes: Holmes’ presence as a starter Sunday was unpredictable a month ago. But because of injuries and disappointments, the 6-foot-4 Holmes is starting, at least for now. He has potential. But until he shows he can be a consistent performer, Holmes has to be considered a fringe starter.

Vincent Brown: The former Charger is in the rotation. The key for Brown is staying healthy. He can help this team.

Denarius Moore: Moore was a healthy scratch in London. He has fallen that far. Moore’s biggest issue is his consistency. The Raiders don’t feel like they can count on him at this point.

Brice Butler: Bottom of the roster player could get more chances if others above him on the depth chart don’t impress.

Rod Streater: The starter has a fractured foot. His agent said he will be out about a month. The Raiders have not put a timeline on him. Streater is one of the Raiders' most reliable players on offense even though he is still fairly green.
