Perhaps Pryor can still help Raiders after all

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- In April, the Oakland Raiders decided quarterback Terrelle Pryor couldn’t help them any longer and traded him to the Seattle Seahawks for a seventh-round draft pick.

Four months later, the Raiders believe that the strong-legged, arm-challenged quarterback can, indeed, help them after all. The Oakland defense will likely see a lot of Pryor in Thursday night's preseason finale against the Seahawks. Coach Dennis Allen believes this will help them prepare to face mobile quarterback Geno Smith and the New York Jets in Week 1.

"If we get some of those plays, that’ll be good experience for us going into Week 1 versus the Jets," Allen said.

Added defensive coordinator Jason Tarver about facing Pryor: "This is a good practice. Whether it’s good, bad, indifferent, this is good practice because we’ll get to see the calls and how they work and we’ll learn from them. And then we can work on both the calls and obviously, how it all fits on the read scheme."
