Best-case scenario: Max Valles

We are looking at the best-case scenario for all 10 of the Oakland Raiders' 2015 NFL draft picks.

Player: Max Valles

Position: Defensive end, Virginia

Round: Round 6, No. 179 overall

Earliest he could have big role: Late 2015 season

Why is there an opportunity? The Raiders are desperate for pass-rushers. They had 22 sacks last season and seven sacks from their defensive ends, which was the fewest in the NFL.

Who is in his way? The Raiders really don’t have any true rush ends; Valles projects as a player who could fill that gap.

Current thoughts: Valles, who is 20-years old, is worth a look. He had eight sacks last season at Virginia and has raw potential. He needs to be developed. It likely won’t be a quick transition. However, I wouldn't be shocked if Valles was worked into the rotation and got some defensive repetitions in the second half of the 2015 season if he practices well.
