Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly joined NFL Network on Thursday night to discuss the upcoming NFL draft, which will feature no shortage of players he has coached and coached against.

With a young team in 2014, the Irish will not have the kind of strong draft showing that they had last year, when they landed eight players in the draft. But Kelly discussed on TV a trio of former Irish players and what will make them good at the next level.

Among the group? Receiver DaVaris Daniels, who missed last season as part of an academic suspension, his second academic-related issue at Notre Dame.

"Daniels has immense physical talent," Kelly said. "It’s a shame that obviously he couldn’t get things right academically. But he’s a good kid. We hadn’t had any problems with him other than obviously the academics were difficult for him here at Notre Dame.

"But a supreme talent athletically. He’s going to get a chance, whether he gets drafted or is a free agent, he’s got the talent level to play in the NFL. And I think he’s going to be a surprise for somebody, one of those sleeper picks that makes good in the NFL."

Kelly also talks about the value of Ben Koyack and Kyle Brindza at the next level, along with what the return of Ronnie Stanley means for the Irish.
