P.K. Subban gave the Montreal Canadiens a scare when he crashed into the boards in the first period after a dangerous push from behind from the Toronto Maple Leafs' Leo Komarov. Subban flexed his left knee back and forth afterward and missed a number of shifts, but he stayed in the game and played a strong one.

"Yeah, I’m good," said Subban, who refused to criticize Komarov afterward. "I banged it pretty good going into the wall there. But I was able to finish the game and we’ll see how it feels tomorrow."

Then Subban added with his trademark smile: "It might get me the day off tomorrow, so I’ll milk it as far as I can."

The Habs beat the Leafs 3-1 in Toronto on opening night.
