The Ducks were 1-for-1 with the man advantage. The Ducks held the Blackhawks without a third-period goal for the third consecutive game. Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford had 25 saves. Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen had 27 saves.

What it means: The Ducks took a 2-1 series advantage and regained home-ice advantage. It was the Blackhawks’ first loss at the United Center in this year’s playoffs. The Blackhawks are 5-1 at home. The Ducks are 4-1 on the road in the playoffs. The Ducks have gotten more production from their top players the past few games. Ryan Getzlaf had two assists in Game 3 and tied a franchise record for most assists in a playoff season with 14. The Ducks’ penalty kill also stepped up after allowing two power-play goals in Game 2. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville doesn’t normally make lineup changes after a win, but he did so on Thursday. He took out Antoine Vermette and Teuvo Teravainen and replaced them with Kris Versteeg and Joakim Nordstrom.

Player of the game: Getzlaf had two assists and won 12 of 21 faceoffs.

Stat of the game: The Blackhawks had one shot on goal in 9:18 of power-play ice time.
