As Carey Price continues to add fuel to his Hart and Vezina Trophy campaigns, the compliments keep rolling in, including from respected rival NHL head coaches Mike Babcock (Detroit) and Ken Hitchcock (St. Louis). Both of them coached Price at the Olympics a year ago.

"Same as Marty [Martin Brodeur], no pulse, so calm, everyone feeds off the calmness," Hitchcock told ESPN.com via text Tuesday. "He makes everyone around him want to play for him."

When you’re being compared to Brodeur in his heyday, that’s about as high praise as you can get. Of course, Hitchcock also had Brodeur at three Olympics plus a World Cup of Hockey, so his comparisons are certainly from hands-on experience.

Babcock, who doubled as head coach of Canada’s Olympic gold-medal team a year ago, marvels not only at Price’s talent but at his demeanor on the ice.

"He is unreal," Babcock said via text message. "Unreal calm -- big, square, soft, plays the puck, it doesn’t get any better."
