Rumblings: Ducks GM denies Tyler Myers trade rumors

The Sabres would like an NHL defenseman, prospect and a draft pick back for Tyler Myers, according to ESPN the Magazine's Craig Custance. Timothy T. Ludwig/USA TODAY Sports

There have been recent reports about the Anaheim Ducks talking to the Buffalo Sabres about Tyler Myers, but it doesn’t sound like there’s much there.

"The last time I talked to [Sabres GM] Tim Murray was at the GMs meeting in November. I have not had a discussion with him since," Ducks general manager Bob Murray told ESPN.com on Tuesday.

My sense is that if Murray makes a move before the March 2 trade deadline, he would look for a more physical, aggressive type of blueliner.

The Ducks had a 12-point lead atop the Pacific Division standings entering Tuesday night but are one point behind Nashville for the top spot in the Western Conference.
