Will C.J. Spiller return to action Sunday?

We haven't seen C.J. Spiller on the field since Oct. 19, because he has been recovering from surgery that repaired a broken collarbone. Spiller, who remains on short-term IR, was able to take part in a limited practice Wednesday.

Will he return to action Sunday against the Oakland Raiders?

“I’ll see how the rest of the week goes,” he said, per the Buffalo News.

Spiller added that it will depend on, “How I feel.”

Coach Doug Marrone liked what he saw from Spiller, but he wasn't ready to give the thumbs up for Week 16.

“He looked good,” Marrone said. “But he’s still working his way back into the football part of it.”

Spiller can become an unrestricted free agent at season's end, when his contract becomes voidable. That means he has plenty of motivation to get on the field and make a mark during the final two games of the season, especially after mustering just 287 yards in his first seven outings.

Despite a promising matchup Sunday versus the Raiders, Spiller would be a risky play for fantasy teams that have made it to a championship game.

Regardless, we will know by Saturday whether he will play Sunday.

"Spiller remains on injured reserve with a designation to return," noted ESPN Bills reporter Mike Rodak. "The team has until Dec. 24 (21 days after he returned to practice) to add him to their 53-man roster, but they must make that move by 4 p.m. ET Saturday for him to be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders."
