CB Fuller out an extended period?

The Chicago Bears announced that rookie CB Kyle Fuller was forced from Sunday's game due to a hip injury. The severity of that malady is unclear, but it appears that a hand injury he also sustained could keep him out of game action this week.

"More bad news for the Bears: stud rookie CB Kyle Fuller broke his hand and suffered a hip pointer today. Hard to play corner w/1 hand," tweeted Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.

The Bears already had been playing without CB Charles Tillman, who has been out since Week 2, so losing Fuller for an extended period could be rough on their already struggling defense.

Fuller was the NFC Defensive Rookie of the Month for September and was on pace to be in the mix for an even bigger award.

"Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller is making a strong push for NFL Rookie of the Year with three interceptions and three forced fumbles," ESPN Bears reporter Jeff Dickerson observed prior to Sunday's game.
