Will McCarron land in Cleveland?

If the Cleveland Browns pass on a quarterback with their first pick in next month's NFL draft, the No. 4 overall selection, it would rule out the big names like Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel and open up the possibility of the team drafting a QB with their next pick at No. 26.

It's possible that Teddy Bridgewater may slip that far, and others like Derek Carr and AJ McCarron are expected to be available. Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report writes that the Browns really love Carr, and "there's a feeling with many in football that Cleveland will take him with the No. 26 pick," but that other name, McCarron, is one the Browns are getting a good look at this week.

ESPN Insider Adam Schefter reports that McCarron will conduct a private workout for the Browns on Wednesday, and, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer, a source indicates that the steady Alabama product will also visit Cleveland next week.

If Bridgewater is still on the board at No. 26, it's unlikely that the Browns would pick Carr or McCarron ahead of him at that spot. But if Bridgewater is already selected, the Browns could address another position at No. 26 and wait until the second round (pick No. 35) to land their next QB of the future.
